June 3 ------ Megan Young revealed that regaining her confidence took time rather than an immediate “bounce back,” a year after giving birth.
In a recent Instagram post, Young uploaded a before-and-after video showing her body one month postpartum and one year after giving birth. The video featured clips of her bloated stomach shortly after childbirth alongside recent footage of her toned physique and workout sessions at the gym. “I didn’t bounce back,” Young wrote in the caption. “I’ve been slowly getting into my groove.”
The actress said she gradually returned to exercise after receiving clearance from her obstetrician following childbirth. “I was doing light walking, eventually lifting weights again but still wasn’t at the point that I wanted to be. I was still 25 lbs. over my pre-pregnancy weight. In total, I gained 50 lbs during my pregnancy,” she said.
The Miss World 2013 titleholder recalled contracting dengue during her fifth month postpartum and had to address her diastasis recti, a condition where one’s belly sticks out.
“[I’ve] been working HARD for the past two months. Working out even while on vacation, tracking my food intake every single day. It has been so worth it,” she said. “I love getting stronger for myself so that I can be stronger for my family.” The actress’s post came after she previously disclosed that she had battled dengue, which affected her ability to produce milk for her son.
