Mboko, Eala withdraw from Roland Garros doubles

May 28 ------ Victoria Mboko and Alex Eala are no longer playing doubles at Roland Garros.

The schedule has confirmed that their first match on Court 10 versus Leylah Fernandez and Diana Shnaider will not happen. The duo have been replaced on the main draw by Oksana Selekhmeteva and Anastasia Zakharova.

There was no official reason given for the withdrawal but Mboko was seen playing her first round singles match against Nikola Bartunkova with several tapes on her right shoulder area. It could be that the no. 9 seed needed to reserve her shoulder for the second round in singles where she faces Czech player Katerina Siniakova.

Eala shifts her focus out of clay and to the grass season playing Lexus Birmingham Open, a WTA 125 in Great Britain starting June 1.
