Maynilad starts service interruption

April 22 ------ Maynilad customers were urged to prepare for a weeklong water service interruption that began on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

The affected areas are parts of the cities of Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Parañaque and Pasay in Metro Manila, and Bacoor and Imus in Cavite province. The service interruption is expected to last until April 23. The advisory said that water services in some of these areas are expected to normalize by April 22. The water concessionaire said that the service interruption was due to the cleaning of filters at the Putatan Water Treatment Plants.

"The turbidity level of the raw water in Laguna Lake has been gradually decreasing since the Amihan season ended, but the process is taking longer than anticipated. Due to this, we have to extend our maintenance activities at the plants," Maynilad said. "Normal operations will be restored once the cleaning of the filters is completed," it added.

Maynilad also told their customers to store enough water when supply is available.
