Maris Racal gives rice to jeepney drivers to celebrate 12 years in show biz

May 20 ------ Maris Racal went out into the street as she marked her 12th year in the entertainment industry, celebrating the milestone by spearheading a community initiative. The actress expressed her gratitude by personally giving away rice to jeepney drivers at the University of the Philippines – Diliman, as seen in the clip on her Instagram page.
Racal was holding a placard with “free bigas” written on it, waving to drivers passing by the area and handing them rice and bottled water. “[Twelve] years na ako sa industriya. Happy anniversary to us mariestellers. Love you all so much!” she said in the caption. Racal’s efforts drew praise from netizens, who lauded Racal’s generosity.
Racal rose to fame after joining “Pinoy Big Brother: All In” in 2014, where she emerged as the second runner-up. She has since starred in numerous TV series and films, including “Sunshine,” “And The Breadwinner Is…”, and “Here Comes The Groom.” She also has a thriving career as a singer, with releases including “Ate Sandali,” “Not For Me,” and “Sino Ang Tanga.” Prior to Racal, several celebrities have also extended help to drivers, giving grocery packs and fuel assistance amid the rising cost of necessities. Among them were Kim Chiu, Kyline Alcantara, Awra Briguela, and content creator Arshie Larga.
