October 13 ------ President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has ordered the creation of a development plan for the maritime and aviation sectors to aid the country’s economic recovery and provide livelihood to Filipinos.
Office of the Press Secretary officer-in-charge (OIC) Undersecretary Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil said Marcos directed the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to craft the plan during the 11th Cabinet meeting.
She added that the President also directed the Transportation agency to keep the country’s ports efficient to attract more cruise ships that will boost tourism.
The Chief Executive further ordered the DOTr to prioritize the upgrade of the Manila airport to meet the growing passenger demand.
