Manila identifies 64 'no parking' zones

MANILA, September 18 ------ The Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) released a list of areas in the city covered by “no parking” and “absolute no parking” zones. In a social media post, the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) said a total of 64 areas in the city are now declared as no-parking zones.


The city government issued the list in accordance with the agreement reached by the mayors in Metro Manila, who approved a uniform street parking ban on major roads to ease heavy traffic. The following areas are considered as "absolute no parking" zones: Pres. Quirino Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, Taft Avenue, Magsaysay Blvd./Aurora Blvd., Rizal Avenue, Delpan, and 17 Mabuhay Lanes.


The areas that have been declared as "no parking zones" are: Agusto Francisco Street, Alfonso Mendoza St., Apacible St., Ayala Boulevard, Bacood St., Beata St., Blumentritt Road, Sampaloc; Carreon St., Dimasalang St., Estrada St., Fajardo St., Finance Road, Geronimo St., Guanzon St., Jesus St., Jose Abad Santos Avenue, Kalaw (Westbound), Laong-Laan St., Laura St., Lawton, Legarda St., Leon Guinto St., M. Dela Fuente St., and Maceda St. Also considered as "no parking" zones are: Maria Clara St., Moriones St., Natividad Lopez St., Old Sta. Mesa St., Onyx St., Osmeña Highway, P. Sanchez St., Pablo Ocampo St., Padre Burgos Avenue, Padre Faura St., Panaderos St., Pasigline St., Paz St., Pedro Gil St., Peñafrancia St., Pres. Quirino Extension, Quirino St. in Tondo, Manila.


Parking is also not allowed on the following roads: R. Magsaysay, Retiro St., Mel Lopez Boulevard, Romualdez St., San Andres Bukid, San Anton St., San Marcelino St., Singalong St., Tayuman St., Tejeron St., United Nations Avenue, Vicente Cruz St., Victorino Mapa Extension, Victorino Mapa St. and Zobel Roxas St.


On Tuesday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) during the Metro Manila Council meeting, passed Regulation No. 25-001 prohibiting parking on national primary roads and limiting parking on secondary roads during peak hours.
