Malacañang declares special non-working days for LGUs in February

MANILA, February 3 ------ Malacañang has declared several special (non-working) days in various local government units (LGUs) across the country in February 2026 in line with their founding anniversaries and local festivals.
In an advisory released by the Office of the Executive Secretary, the special non-working days were declared through a series of proclamations signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, by the authority of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., to allow residents to properly celebrate their local occasions.
Feb. 2 was declared a special non-working day in the province of Ilocos Sur for its founding anniversary under Proclamation No. 1151. Meanwhile, Feb. 10 was declared a special non-working day in the municipality of Talisay, Batangas, for its founding anniversary (Proclamation No. 1152), and in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, for the Pamulinawen Festival (Proclamation No. 1154).
On Feb. 11, a special non-working day was declared in Iriga City, Camarines Sur, for the Tinagba Festival under Proclamation No. 1153. The Palace also declared Feb. 17 a special non-working day in the municipality of Padre Burgos, Quezon, for Padre Burgos Day (Proclamation No. 1155).
Additional special non-working days were set on Feb. 18 in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental for the Tawo-Tawo Festival (Proclamation No. 1150); Feb. 19 in Bago City, Negros Occidental for its 60th Charter Anniversary (Proclamation No. 1156); Feb. 26 in Zamboanga City for its 89th Charter Anniversary (Proclamation No. 1149); and Feb. 28 in the municipality of Tanza, Cavite for the 112th Araw ng Tanza (Proclamation No. 1148).
The proclamations were issued upon the recommendation of concerned local government units to enable their residents to fully participate in the celebrations.
