Maki, Jona and other Kapamilya stars win at 38th Aliw Awards

December 17 ------ For the past 38 years, the Aliw Awards Foundation has celebrated and honored the country’s best live performers in theater, concert stage, and live events. The ‘Entertainer of the Year’ award is the most coveted recognition and has been handed to the country’s top artists. This year, the top prize was given to Kapamilya singer Jona, who also took home the Best Pop Artist award. Maki won the Best Director for a major concert award for his recent show ‘Kolorcoaster’. He also took home the Best Male Artist in a major concert award.
Other Kapamilya stars who were also recognized were Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez for Best Collaboration in a major concert for ‘Always & Forever’; Ogie Alcasid with Odette Quesada for Best Group Ensemble Performance for ‘Q&A’; Regine Velasquez took home the Best Female Artist in a major concert for ‘Reset’; ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo was hailed as the Best Composer for Original Musical Theater for his songs in ‘Delia D’ musical; Star Magic artist Nikki Valdez won the Best Lead Actress in a Musical for her performance in ‘Next to Normal’, she is tied with her alternate Shiela Valderrama.
Zsa Zsa Padilla, Lani Misalucha, and Jed Madela were among the honorees of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Aliw Awards Foundation.
