LPG retail prices may go down

MANILA, June 25 ------ Good news for LPG consumers. Regasco President Arnel Ty said the contract price of cooking gas has gone down by $200 per metric ton due to easing tensions in the Middle East.
That would translate to a reduction of around P12 per kilo or P132 per 11kg tank, if the decrease is sustained until June 30, 2026. Ty said some manufacturers may announce a rollback before July 1, 2026. In the Philippines, LPG price adjustments are usually announced only once a month, on the 1st day of the month.
Though LPG prices have gone down in recent months--from a staggering P1,600 per 11kg cylinder to around P1,150 to P1,300--consumers are still finding it expensive to use LPG since some well-known brands still sell at old prices. If the current slash in contract price is sustained, it will bring down common retail prices by just a little over P1,000 to P1,400 per 11 kg tank, based on random checking with some retailers.
The DOE website has not yet posted an updated June price range for LPG in Metro Manila.
