Liza Diño meets Jung Hae-in, Park Hae-soo at International Film Festival

October 11 ------ Liza Diño is having a worthwhile trip in South Korea as she did not only represent Filipino filmmakers in the 27th Busan International Film Festival, but also got to meet Korean actors Jung Hae-in and Park Hae-soo.

Diño, who attended the film festival as an industry mentor of Malaysian film lab mylab, gave a glimpse of her meeting with the two actors, via her Instagram page. “Jung Hae-in at the Marie Claire Asia Star Awards. He took my phone and said, ‘Let me take our selfie,'” Diño narrated, showing a photo with the “While You Were Sleeping” and “Snowdrop” actor. “Aww, super nice niya.” “Not yet as familiar with Korean stars but I’ve seen ‘Squid Game’ so yeah, hello there Park Hae-soo!” she stated, along with her photo with the “Squid Game” actor.

Fellow celebrities Arlene Muhlach, Sylvia Sanchez and Max Collins could not help but fangirl over the Korean actors via the comments section, with Muhlach and Sanchez stating that they are jealous of Diño’s experience. Diño arrived in Busan last Oct. 3, admitting she felt “a bit queasy and quite nervous” as it is her first international trip after she ended her stint as Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairperson.

“As I officially take on the next chapter of my life, still doing what I love — championing Philippine cinema in the global space — I take with me the hopes and dreams of the Filipino filmmakers I now represent to make global quality projects that will take us to the next level,” she stated. “I may be doing this now in a different capacity, but I am nonetheless filled with the same passion and drive I had back when I was in public service,” she added.
