MANILA, Philippines, August 12 ------ Kris Aquino announced she will enter a six-month preventive isolation period as part of her treatment for multiple autoimmune and life-threatening illnesses.

In an Instagram update, Aquino said her health challenges have intensified in recent months, prompting her to make what she described as “a brave choice” in hopes of prolonging her life. “On purpose matagal akong hindi nag upload. I have to admit that if I told you what was happening, some of you may stop praying because my autoimmune diseases were increasing in number and my life-threatening ailments needed me to make a brave choice. Trust me, it’s difficult to accept every night when I sleep that there may be no tomorrow for me,” she wrote in the caption while sharing video clips of her visits to the hospital.

Aquino, 54, said she has been staying for nearly two months at a private beach property owned by a family who have provided her a safe place to focus on recovery and faith. She also revealed she will undergo another six-to-eight-hour infusion session in six days, describing it as “one of the strongest autoimmune immunosuppressants” alongside two other medications — one taken daily and another administered via injection — that will “totally wipe out” her immunity. Because of this treatment, Aquino said she will live in preventive isolation at her family’s compound in Tarlac, which she and her Cojuangco cousins call “Alto.”

Meanwhile, she also shared how her sons are coping. Her eldest, Josh, has been staying with a cousin after being “traumatized” by seeing her frail. “Since the deaths of his Lola Cory, Lola P, and Tito Noy, seeing me frail, weak, often attached to my IV drip- kuya is traumatized, visibly shaking, repeating ‘mama get well, I love you…’ for now he’s living with my genuinely super loving cousin,” she said.

Her younger son, 18-year-old Bimby, on the other hand, has been by her side. “[Bimb] has sacrificed much to take care of me. He is heaven’s gift, my optimistic adult who reminds me i should ‘never surrender,’” Aquino wrote. The former TV host and actress has previously revealed she is battling 11 autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus (SLE), thyroiditis, EGPA, systemic sclerosis, fibromyalgia, and polymyositis.
