Kris Aquino defends sons Josh, Bimby from nasty online talk

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, March 8 ------ 'That yellow brick road is starting to look very inviting now,' says actress Kris Aquino, whose two sons had been the target of gossip on social media. Kris Aquino “warned” her detractors that they were “pushing [her] in the direction [they] are so obviously afraid [she] will take” by dragging her two sons into controversies and subjecting them to harassment.

“I am not blind, and I am not stupid…. In a span of a week, my children have been used to trigger me. Kuya Josh, with zero factual basis, was said to have impregnated a girl. Bimb has been repeatedly targeted with bullying because people are insisting he is gay,” said Kris in an Instagram post on Sunday, March 7. The “Queen of All Media” urged rumormongers to “name and show” the girl whom Josh, her eldest son, supposedly impregnated.

Addressing the bullying that 13-year-old Bimb has been subjected to, Kris said: “I know my son doesn’t identify as being gay, but in the event he ever does, he will still be my son. The bullying you are doing is a reflection of your homophobic attitudes that are no longer welcome in 2021.” Recently people on social media had been poking fun at Bimb – going as far as assuming his sexual orientation and gender identity – based on a short video that Kris had posted.

“What is very clear to me is that some people cannot stand the fact that despite all their efforts to bury me, I am still standing,” said Kris, pointing out that she has been doing “[her] part with [her] hard-earned money” to help people who’ve been struggling because of the coronavirus pandemic.
