Kim Chiu marks 20th year in showbiz: ‘It still feels unreal’

June 4 ------ Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu expressed her gratitude as she celebrated 20 years in the showbiz industry. In an Instagram post, the Its Showtime host penned a heartfelt letter to everyone who supported her for the past two decades.

Kim rose to fame after her stint in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition, where she was declared the Big Winner. Since then, she has acted in multiple television shows and films and hosted various shows. The Alibi actress recalled that, two decades ago, she was just a young girl from Cebu who went to church to pray with her mom. “I prayed for good grades. I prayed for someone to help send us to school. I prayed for a house we could finally call our own. I prayed that one day we’d never have to keep asking for help. I prayed that I would have enough so I could help my family,” she recalled. 

Kim admitted how those prayers once felt impossible, but fast forwarded two decades, and her prayers have been answered. “To my solid supporters who have loved and supported me unconditionally for two decades—thank you. Your time, effort, loyalty, and belief in me mean more than words can ever express. Thank you for growing up with me and for standing by me through every season of my life,” she wrote.

The Kapamilya star made sure to pay tribute to her home network, ABS-CBN, for giving her all the opportunities in the past 20 years. “To my ABS-CBN family, thank you for being my home for the last 20 years. Thank you to all our bosses and everyone behind the scenes for the trust, guidance, and opportunities. ❤️ "To all the brands who believed in me and entrusted me with representing your names, thank you so much,” she expressed. For Kim, ‘thank you’ is not enough to express how grateful she is for everyone who showed her love and support.
