April 17 ------ Kevin Quiambao is set to face a familiar foe as his Goyang Sono Skygunners squeaked past the Seoul SK Knights in Game 3 of their 2026 KBL quarterfinals series, 66-65.
Quiambao and the Skygunners swept the higher-ranked SK Knights, 3-0, to set up a clash against Carl Tamayo and the defending champion Changwon LG Sakers in the semifinals. This KBL matchup adds a new layer to Quiambao and Tamayo's lengthy history, from being high school teammates in NU-Nazareth School before being fierce title rivals in college with the DLSU Green Archers and the UP Fighting Maroons, respectively.
Nathan Knight bailed out the Skygunners after they squandered a double-digit lead early in the fourth quarter. Knight drilled the go-ahead basket with four ticks left to negate Jameel Warney's earlier score that gave Seoul the lead, 65-64, with 18 seconds remaining. Quiambao fell one rebound short of the double-double, finishing with 19 points, nine rebounds, and one assist in the win. Knight had a team-high 22 points alongside 11 rebounds, and four assists.
Filipino reinforcement Arvin Tolentino had 11 markers, three boards, and one dime in the losing effort for Seoul.
