Kevin Garnett part of group looking to buy Minnesota Timberwolves

July 22 ------ THE owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves is looking to sell the team and former NBA star Kevin Garnett is among those looking to take over. Glen Taylor has secured the services of investment firm The Raine Group to help sell the NBA franchise.

Timberwolves legend Kevin Garnett said in an Instagram post he is part of a group interested in buying the team. According to Sportico.com, Taylor, who has owned the team since 1994, has set a price of $1.2 billion.

“I was recently approached by The Raine Group to discuss the future of our franchise. From the time I bought the team in 1994, I have always wanted what’s best for our fans and will entertain opportunities on the evolution of the Timberwolves and Lynx ownership structure,” Taylor said in a statement.

The Timberwolves are not part of the NBA restart, with a 19-45 win-loss record, just a notch over bottom team Golden State Warriors at 15-50, when the season was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic. The NBA resumes its season on July 30.
