MANILA, Philippines, October 16 ------ Carl Tamayo and the defending champions Changwon LG Sakers pushed their winning streak to three in the Korean Basketball League (KBL). Tamayo continued his stellar play as Changwon swept its weekend games against the Goyang Sono Skygunners and Suwon KT Sonicboom. Tamayo recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds against Kevin Quiambao and the Skygunners to power the LG Sakers to an 80-74 win on Friday. He followed that up with an all-around game of 14 points, four rebounds and four assists in a 69-53 romp of the Sonicboom and his former University of the Philippines teammate JD Cagulangan, who registered 11 points in the loss.

Changwon improved to 3-1 after dropping its season opener for a share of first place with KCC Egis and Wonju DB Promy. Meanwhile, Rhenz Abando erupted for a season-high 25 points, but his scoring outburst was still not enough to lift the Anyang JKJ Red Boosters over the Seoul Samsung Thunders, who picked up the 83-80 victory.

Bouncing back from the loss to Changwon, Quiambao and Goyang (2-3) beat the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus, 86-80, on Sunday with the ex-La Salle standout notching 20 points and 11 rebounds. Former Ateneo guard SJ Belangel scored 22 in the loss as Daegu remained winless.
