Joshua Garcia returns to action in ‘Love Is Never Gone’

MANILA, June 19 ------ Joshua Garcia is back in action with his new Prime Video series "Love Is Never Gone," where he stars opposite Ivana Alawi for the first time.

In an interview on "Oh My Gan," Joshua shared that the story follows two people who meet in Morocco, where his character crosses paths with Yana Kassir, played by Ivana. But what begins as a connection eventually leads to betrayal and revenge. “Dun ko makikilala yung character ni Ivana si Yana Kassir and then eventually ma-be-betray yung character ko and then maghihigante ako,” Joshua said.

The actor said the project is special because it marks his first time working with Ivana, as well as several cast members including Epy Quizon, Dina Bonnevie, JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith. “First namin to ni Ivana together. Actually, natutuwa nga ako kasi parang first namin pero nung nagka-work kami parang hindi first time,” he shared.

Joshua also praised Ivana for being professional and generous on set. “She’s very professional. Very generous siya sa lahat. Lagi siya nagpapakain kaya busog kami palagi sa set. And sweet, she’s very sweet,” he said.

Aside from romance and drama, Joshua said he enjoyed returning to action after doing several rom-com and drama projects. “Gusto ko siya kapag masyado na akong palaging puro rom-com, puro drama. Parang gusto ko ng bago naman,” he said. Part of the series was shot in Morocco, which Joshua described as both fun and challenging because of the weather, culture, and fast-paced nature of filming abroad. “Mahirap siya kasi wala kang time to prepare… bigla kayo sasalang, no preparation and just do the scene,” he said. Despite the challenges, Joshua said he enjoys working overseas because it allows him to experience new places while doing what he loves.
