Joseph Marco adopts another rescue cat, now cares for 19

MANILA, September 10 ------ Actor Joseph Marco, a known advocate for animal welfare, has welcomed another rescue into his home after finding an ailing kitten.

The kitten, which he named Cosmo, is now among the 19 animals under his care. “Yesterday lang may napulot ako. Coming from the gym, may nakita akong kitten sa taas ng vending machine. I called the cat. Sobrang dehydrated. I had no choice but to take her in,” Marco said in an interview held at OWNDAYS’ Cases for Change 2026 launch in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday.

“Right now I technically have 19. Thankfully, I have a huge place. Nakakaikot sila and may tumutulong sa akin mag-alaga,” he added.

Marco admitted he finds it difficult to turn away animals in need. “Minsan kapag tiniis mo, pag hinayaan mo, yeah no added responsibility — but based on my experience, hinahaunt ako 'pag 'di ko natulungan ang dapat matulungan,” he reasoned.
