Joseph Gordon-Levitt showcases beauty of the Philippines in new short film

September 14 ------ After putting out a call for Filipino writers to join him in his online project last month, Hollywood actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt is proud to share the outcome of his latest endeavor with his company hitRECord which is an online community for creative collaboration worldwide. Last August, the Inception and 500 Days of Summer star asked for the submissions to be posted on his website HITRECORD. Last September 11, Joseph shared a video on his Facebook page.

He wrote, “Really pleased to share "The Beauty of the Philippines," the short film that so many of you created! “Like everything we do on hitRECord, this piece is a true collaboration. Artists from the Philippines contributed thousands of photos and videos to bring other artists' writing and voice acting to life.” The 39-year-old actor and hitRECord founder created the website as a platform where he could produce, collaborate, and share his work. More than 10 years later, his pet project, called HitRecord has turned into a full-fledged technology company.

Joseph also took time to thank everyone who contributed to his latest project. “Your enthusiasm for this project really moved me. So did your talent and creativity. The finished piece is such a sweet celebration of a beautiful place and culture. Bravo to everyone who contributed! Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. Looking forward to seeing what we'll create together next,” he wrote. The one-and-a-half-minute short film with the title “The Beauty of the Philippines” featured snapshots from different places in the country as well as showcasing the beauty and diversity of Filipinos of all ages and backgrounds.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a 39-year-old actor, filmmaker, singer, and entrepreneur. He first made his big screen debut as a child actor in the 1992 film Beethoven and has gone on to star in films like 500 Days of Summer, Don Jon, Inception, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, 7500, Knives Out, with his most recent film this year Project Power. He founded HITRECORD which is an online collaborative media platform. The company uses a variety of media to produce such projects as short films, books, and DVDs.
