May 15 ------ The JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith-led “Almost Us” has enjoyed strong box-office performance, earning P23 million as it heads to its second week in cinemas.

Regal Films, one of the film’s co-producers, announced on Instagram that it has earned P23 million as of Tuesday, May 12, while thanking Ibarra and Smith’s fans for the support. “GRABE KAYO! Thank you for making #AlmostUs earn over ₱23 MILLION nationwide as of May 12! Dahil sa walang sawang suporta n’yo, #AlmostUs is officially EXTENDED for its SECOND WEEK in 127 cinemas nationwide para mas marami pang makakilig, masasaktan, at mapapasugal sa pag-ibig,” the post read.

Directed by Dan Villegas, “Almost Us” marks the first film with Ibarra and Smith as the leads. They were also paired as an onscreen tandem in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 entry “Shake, Rattle & Roll Evil Origins,” but weren’t the lead stars.

The film tells the story of best friends Janine (Smith) and RR (Ibarra), with the latter falling in love with the former. However, Janine is determined to forge a bond with Kenzo (Dustin Yu), a celebrity whom she idolizes. The onscreen tandem is also the leads of the digital series “Ghosting,” which premiered in July 2025. Its second part was released four months later.
