Jed Madela on best lesson learned in showbiz

July 2 ------ During a media conference at Tipsy Pig in Quezon City recently, Jed shared the most significant lesson learned in showbiz. "The biggest lesson is that nobody is indispensable. Kahit na anong galing mo pa, there will always be better than you. There will always be someone younger than you. There will always be someone more talented than you. "You have to be on top of your game, pa rin. You can be replaced anytime. So be good at what you do, not just at your craft but also as a person in general," Jed said. On his advice to upcoming singers, Jed said: "No. 1 is that you have to love your job, and No. 2 you have to love you're working it. Boss man yan, nagtitimpla ng kape or tumatawag sa inyo sa dressing room. You have to treat everyone with respect. "Yung word of mouth is so powerful. Kahit na ano ang galing mo, kung masama ang ugali mo sa maliliit na tao, pwede ka nilang siraan. "Pwede nilang sabihin, huwag na yan. Iba na lang. Masama ang ugali. So it can happen. Regardless of what they are, or status, be nice to them, to the people you are working with," Jed also said.

OPM singer Jed Madela is all set to mesmerize the audience with his concert, "Welcome To My World," at the Music Museum in Greenhills on July 5 at 8 p.m. Jed, who will turn 47 on July 14, said his birthday concert would be a different show because there would be no special guests. "Wala akong guest. Ako lang ang makikita ninyong kakanta sa stage. But who knows, baka may makita kayo na padaan daan doon. "This is a very different concert pero if you're asking me for special guests, wala talaga. Iba yung gagawin ng mga guest ko rito. Baka nga mas mauna ninyo silang makita kesa sa akin. Yun ang teaser ng concert ko," Jed said.

Of all the songs he performed, Jed said, "Superman (It's Not Easy To Be Me)" is close to his heart, believing it was the song that started it all. "I chose that song to introduce myself, to show that I may have this powerful voice, but I'm also human. And I had it arranged to make it a big, big song, and that was the first song that became my anthem," Jed also said.
