Jayson David shines as Barangay Ginebra dominates NorthPort

May 2 ------ Jayson David starred as Barangay Ginebra took down NorthPort, 131-106, in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Philsports Arena. 

David posted 25 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals to provided the help for Ginebra. Barangay Ginebra went hot early on as it hot a 40-24 lead just in the first quarter before claiming a 70-43 lead. As the Gin Kings cruised to the victory, David stood out particularly in the fourth period as he made 15 of his total markers, drilled three out of three treys, and grabbed five rebounds in the said frame where Barangay Ginebra led by as much as 34, 121-87, with 5:11 remaining before claiming its second win. 

Aside from David, RJ Abarrientos had 27 points, eight assists, and three steals. Barangay Ginebra improved to 2-1 as they bounced back after falling to San Miguel last Friday. Will Navarro had 19 points, while Sidney Onwubere had 17 points as the Batang Pier played without Arvin Tolentino. NorthPort slipped to 1-2 and absorbed its second straight loss.
