CANDON City, March 9 ------ Japeth Aguilar celebrated his 10th PBA All-Star appearance by emerging as the oldest MVP ever of the annual showcase at the Candon City Arena.

The 39-year-old Aguilar led the Solid North against the South, 147-142, as finished with 29 points including a perfect 7-of-7 dunk attempt worth 3 points each. The last of those emphatic slams in the final 24 seconds proved to be the marginal basket for the North side, which won for the sixth straight time against the South since the 2010 All-Star game. "I'm just enjoying this All-Star game," said Aguilar.

He was two years younger than Arwind Santos, who was 37 when he won the award in 2019. The MVP was the third for the Barangay Ginebra veteran but his first solo award. He was MVP in the 2019 and 2024 All-Star editions, but shared the award with Arwind Santos and Robert Bolick, respectively.
