'Insidious: Out of the Further' is 2nd biggest movie of 2026 in PH box office

September 8 ------ The latest installment in the "Insidious" horror franchise has become the second-highest-grossing film in the Philippines in 2026, its distributor said. "Insidious: Out of the Further," which opened in local cinemas on August 19, grossed P393.37 million as of its third weekend, Columbia Pictures Industries Inc. said in a press statement.

The film has overtaken Christopher Nolan's epic "The Odyssey" in the local box-office rankings and continues to screen on more than 200 screens nationwide, Columbia Pictures said.

The sixth entry in the "Insidious" franchise, "Out of the Further" follows Amelia Eve's Gemma, a young mother raising her daughter in the house where she grew up.

Gemma discovers that she can enter The Further, a realm inhabited by lost souls. She soon realizes, however, that she can also bring its inhabitants back into the real world.
