MANILA, September 12 ------ Actor Ian Veneracion is preparing rigorously for his upcoming action series "Incognito," which he describes as one of ABS-CBN's most ambitious projects to date, and the biggest production of his career.
"Pilot episode na ginawa namin, we were so happy about it. Grabe yung action. I was so surprised. Grabe support ng ABS-CBN. The storyline, cast, and stunts, grabe ang laki. It is the biggest show I have done in my whole career," he said in an interview on Sunday evening at NAIA before departing to shoot the series abroad. "Even now, I am in the process of getting in shape. Kasi grabe yung scenes namin—barilan, suntukan, langoy. Ang dami eksena, it is very physical," he added.
Veneracion emphasized they aim to elevate the standards of Filipino action series, so that it can potentially compete on an international level. "Pwede natin, we are hoping ma-ilaban ito sa international standards," he said.
To prepare for the demanding physical roles, Veneracion and his co-stars underwent extensive training in various combat disciplines. "We did our training for guns, firing, tactical, airsoft, martial arts. We bond as a team. Para talaga kami team like the characters we are portraying—kahit staff. Everybody is efficient. Malaking tulong. We are able to execute the really difficult scenes," he explained. "Unang-una, galing ng nagtrain sa amin. They trained real troops from international—hindi lang sa Philippines. Ang galing. The curriculum is rigid," Veneracion added. He also praised co-stars for quickly mastering the techniques. "Ang bilis matuto ni Maris, Kaila," he said.
Veneracion co-stars in "Incognito" with Daniel Padilla and Richard Gutierrez, along with Baron Geisler, Kaila Estrada and the breakthrough tandem of Maris Racal and Anthonny Jennings.
