December 6 ------ “Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins” is Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin’s second Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) project, as well as their reunion with Regal Entertainment — a feat that they do not want to take for granted.

Diaz and Fedelin are the lead stars of the MMFF 2024 entry “My Future You,” a fantasy romance that tells the story of Karen (Diaz) and Lex (Fedelin), who meet at an online dating app and eventually fall in love. However, it turns out that they come from different timelines, fifteen years apart.

This time, they reunite with Regal in “Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins,” where they star as Faye and Sean in the MMFF 2025 entry’s second chapter, “2025.” It tells the story of college friends attending a Halloween masquerade party, which ends in tragedy after the sudden arrival of a serial killer. “Nakaka-pressure po talaga kasi nag-MMFF kami and MMFF kami this December, so the expectations, alam namin ‘yun,” Diaz said at the film’s grand media launch. “Pero masasabi namin na kahit ang dami naming ginagawa, [sa] ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll,’ binigay po namin ang lahat dito.”

At the same time, Diaz said their hard work is done out of gratitude for Regal since they were once again cast in a film helmed by the production company. “Sana ma-appreciate po ‘yun ng lahat ng manonood kasi naging hands on po talaga kami. Tatawid kami from teleserye to pelikula, lahat ng dugo at pawis, ‘yung pagod, kasama ‘yun ng ginagawa namin. Bukod po ‘dun, ginagawa namin siya ng pagmamahal at pagpapasalamat sa Regal Entertainment,” she said.

Fedelin said the production company was willing to adjust to their busy schedules. He also thanked his co-stars for being understanding throughout the process. “Alam namin na nahirapan ang Regal sa schedule namin, and I know sa cast, nahirapan na pagtagpuin ang [ginagawa namin], pero natapos natin,” he said. “Ginawa namin ang lahat ng makakaya namin at [para maipakita anong] maco-contribute namin sa ibang genre. We didn’t take it for granted.”
