Ateneo lords over La Salle anew

Ateneo came out in full attack mode in the second half as the Blue Eagles thwarted rival La Salle Green Archers anew, 75-68, to stay unbeaten in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament on Tuesday, April 12. The defending champions rolled to an 8-0 record at the start of the second round, while the Archers stayed at third at 5-3.

UST rallies past winless UE

UST bucked a slow start as the Growling Tigers hacked out a 72-61 victory over the winless UE Red Warriors in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament on Tuesday, April 12. The Tigers snapped their three-game skid for a 3-5 slate, while the Warriors skidded to their eighth straight loss.

Adamson avenges FEU heartbreak

Just days after Adamson absorbed a one-point heartbreak against FEU, the Falcons made sure to quickly avenge it with a 64-63 escape at the start of their second-round campaign in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament on Tuesday, April 12. Rookie Matt Erolon knocked in a three-pointer with three seconds left for the game-winner, before the Falcons foiled the Tamaraws’ last play. The Falcons arrested their five-game skid for a 2-6 record, while the Tamaraws slid to 3-5.

UP held off NU’s comeback efforts in the second half as the Maroons hacked out an 84-76 triumph at the start of the UAAP men’s basketball second round on Tuesday, April 12. The Maroons streaked to their seventh straight win for a 7-1 record, while the Bulldogs leveled at 4-4.
