June 14 ------ Heaven Peralejo’s horror film “Lilim” was selected as one of the entries for the official selection at this year’s New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF).

Peralejo announced this on her Instagram Story on Thursday, June 12, by sharing the film’s art card featuring the NYAFF logo. “So excited to go to New York!” she wrote in the caption as the international festival is set to run from July 11 to 27. NYAFF will feature over 100 films for its 24th edition this year, marking its largest slate of premieres to date.

Despite previously starring in the suspense thriller “Nanahimik ang Gabi” opposite Ian Veneracion, Peralejo marked her first major foray into the horror genre with “Lilim.” The horror film revolves around Issa (Peralejo) and her brother, who uncover dark happenings in the orphanage where they grew up and lived. Peralejo is fresh from her Best Actress win for the said role at the Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival last month. The film’s director, Mikhail Red, also bagged the Best Director award at the film festival. Aside from Peralejo, the film also features Eula Valdez, Ryza Cenon, Mon Confiado, and Gold Aceron, among others.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old actress recently made headlines after she and boyfriend Marco Gallo sparked breakup rumors, as the former unfollowed the latter on Instagram and deleted some of their photos together. However, as of this writing, Gallo is still following Peralejo on the platform, with their photos on his account still visible to the public. The pair has yet to address the breakup rumors.
