August 27 ------ Known for gracing the front rows of Paris Fashion Week and international style pages, Heart Evangelista is a fixture in the world of high fashion. Which is why it may surprise many that the Filipina fashion icon has recently lent her star power not to a luxury label or a fine-dining spot, but to a fast-food chain.

At the launch of MyMcDonald’s Rewards, Evangelista stepped out in a custom yellow mini dress embroidered with burgers, fries and golden arches. Designed by Cheetah Rivera and styled by Iza Sim, the playful look turned the corporate rollout into a fashion spectacle.

“I actually had another dress prepared for the event, but it felt like something was missing. When I dress up, I want to translate what I feel. And the best way to translate how I feel is by putting everything I love into a dress. This one was by Cheetah Rivera, and my stylist Iza Sim helped me put it all together. My little touch of extra-ness paid off,” Evangelista said.

The actress, who has long been a McDonald’s fan, admitted that filming the campaign carried a different kind of pressure. “It was so surreal for me to shoot the commercial. Honestly, I don’t usually stumble over my lines, but this time I needed several takes because I was so nervous. It was also nice — it’s refreshing to get nervous for something you really love. It brought back the feeling of when I was just starting out. McDonald’s has been a core memory for me and my friends and my siblings, because we truly grew up with it,” she said.

Evangelista then recalled her childhood order — a Happy Meal — and shared her current go-to’s. “Usually chicken and spaghetti. It depends on how tired I am, but if I’m in a rush, I’ll get chicken nuggets with barbecue sauce or a Filet-O-Fish. And of course, soft serve with fries,” she said. Her love for the fast food staple even extends to fashion. “French fries are my favorite — I even bought a bejeweled fries bag,” she added.

The launch also introduced MyMcDonald’s Rewards, the Philippines’ first fully digital quick-service restaurant loyalty program. Accessible via the McDonald’s App, the program allows customers to earn one point for every P10 spent by scanning their Rewards QR code before ordering. Points can be redeemed for items like medium fries, cheeseburgers or an Oreo McFlurry at 100 points, while 200 points unlock bigger meals such as a Big Mac or a two-piece Chicken McDo.
