August 23 ------ Heart Evangelista considered her decision to take part in Fashion Week, long before it became popular, especially in the Philippines, as one of the biggest risks she has taken in her life that ultimately became rewarding in the end. “Maybe when I took a risk, that was when I went down the least traveled road, and that would be Fashion Week, before people could understand it,” she told reporters at a fast food chain event where she was officially welcomed as a new endorser on Thursday in Makati City.
Evangelista admitted that stepping into Fashion Week felt uncertain at the time, but it became her personal statement of freedom. “But then, aside from fashion, there was a bigger purpose, which was to really express yourself in a world where everybody seems to be perfect,” she said. “Like, who is this little girl who’s walking down the street and wearing all of her fashionable clothes and just being happy? And because I was able to do that and liberate myself, I feel like that’s when the blessings started to pour in,” she added.
Acknowledging the influence she has, Evangelista explained that to be rewarded or to receive blessings means you also have to be a blessing yourself to others. “You are blessed to be a blessing. Not just financially, but by being kind, nice, paying everything forward, and looking at everybody when you say thank you straight in the eye; that’s very important to make a connection that will last forever,” she stated.
Evangelista has recently emerged as one of the top performers in this year’s Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks, ranking among the most influential celebrities based on Media Impact Value (MIV). Based on data released by Launchmetrics in March, Evangelista took the lead as the Top Celebrity, landing in the No. 1 spot in the overall landscape ranking of Milan Fashion Week for 2025.
