May 5 ------ "I really appreciate people like my husband who's very supportive of, you know, me being a late bloomer but being independent and really learning to survive on my own," Heart told an intimate media gathering where she arrived wearing a YSL designer outfit. The actress had just planed in from New York where she was last seen with Chiz and fellow celebrity Anne Curtis attending the opening of a Tiffany & Co. store.
"I really appreciate people like my husband who's very supportive of, you know, me being a late bloomer but being independent and really learning to survive on my own," Heart told an intimate media gathering where she arrived wearing a YSL designer outfit. The actress had just planed in from New York where she was last seen with Chiz and fellow celebrity Anne Curtis attending the opening of a Tiffany & Co. store. "I do attend fashion weeks. It's not necessarily movies but it's a lot of work. You have deadlines. you have content. It sounds a bit pompous but it's really a full-time job and I'm grateful for it," she declared.
Heart said she will only be in Manila for less than 10 days as she is set to travel again on May 13. "I'll also leave with Chiz because he has an event in Venice and after that, I'll go back to Paris. I am also going to Italy because I have a collaboration with a brand. It's going to be a nice, private thing and I can't wait to share that."
The Kapuso star noted that she has seen the most growth in herself just traveling constantly and doing things on her own. "I've come a long way. Before, I would say I'm 30 but I had the mind of a 21-year old. Now I'm 38 but I feel like I have the mind of a 50-year old. I think I had a lot of learning to do with my job, personal things , with responsibilities. I'm on top of everything and I love being on top of everything. I like the feeling that you can drop me off anywhere and I will survive," Heart revealed. "You know, I never used to travel by myself, Now I travel by myself. Before, I cried taking the connecting train to Dubai. Now I can do anything, anything you want and I love it that I'm not a hostage to anyone, I don't have to rely on anyone and I feel that's very, very empowering," she added.
Even as she is kept busy by her international career, Heart stressed that self-care will always be her priority. This is the reason why she agreed to be an endorser of Zion Philippines, a company offering luxury massage chairs programmed with different massage treatments, including volcanic stone for its most expensive model. "Better than a boyfriend!" is how Heart describes the relaxation she gets from using her Zion. "Taking a massage isn't just vanity. It's about health. Health is wealth. It's about taking a pause, no matter what, even if we're going through a lot of struggles. I do have these beautiful clothes, I have this beautiful flower on my neck, but I'm very tired, I have many problems, I'm a normal person like anyone, and I think it's important that you put yourself first always," Heart stressed.
When asked if her fans can afford the massage chairs priced at six digits, Heart's reply amused the crowd. "Well you know, if they can get a credit card, there's two years to pay. I know all about it. All they have to do is ask me because I also have lots of two years to pay. Para-paraan lang. If they want it, they can get it," she quipped.
After keeping people guessing about the state of their marriage last year, actress Heart Evangelista is ready to explore more of the world with her husband, Sen Chiz Escudero. Yesterday, she acknowledged his role in making her more independent and not being a "hostage to anyone" as she pursues the jet-setting lifestyle of a celebrity influencer.
