MANILA, Philippines, June 30 ------ Filipino singer, actor, and television host Billy Crawford has been crowned the winner of "Mask Singer" Season 9 in France, adding another international title to his career.
Billy, who competed under the Donkey costume, emerged victorious during the show's finale after weeks of keeping his identity hidden. He defeated fellow finalists Anisha Jo, who performed as Bouquet, and Carla Lazzari, who appeared as Chick.
Following his victory, Billy posted on Instagram about his recent feat. "This was an absolutely amazing experience! Thank you to my @masksinger_tf1 family for keeping me a secret for a whole month! Thank you to the costume designers for your incredible patience and for the countless adjustments you made along the way," he wrote. "To everyone who voted for me, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
"L’Ane was a very special character to me because I chose it with my son Amari in mind. I figured if he loved it, everyone else would too! Most of all, thank You, Lord God, for giving me the courage, strength, and opportunity to compete — and on top of that, to win!"
The latest achievement adds to Billy's success in France, where he previously won the French version of "Dancing with the Stars" in 2022. He also enjoyed a successful music career in the country during the early 2000s with hits including "Trackin'" and "When You Think About Me."
