GMANetwork.com Awards returns with bigger fan-driven celebration

November 6 ------ The strong participation in last year’s debut established the awards as another platform for fans to show their support for Kapuso personalities and productions, with winners determined entirely through online voting.

Among the inaugural winners were “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition” alumni Will Ashley and Mika Salamanca, who were named New Kapuso Male and Female Stars of the Year, respectively. Miguel Tanfelix and Ysabel Ortega won Kapuso Couple of the Year, while Ashley Sarmiento and Marco Masa, popularly known as AshCo, emerged as Kapuso Love Team of the Year.

In the television categories, “My Father’s Wife” was voted Kapuso Daytime Drama Series of the Year, while “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre” took home Kapuso Primetime Drama Series of the Year. Rhian Ramos also earned Kontrabida of the Year honors for her performance in the fantasy series.

The winners were first announced during GMA Network’s New Year countdown celebration on December 31, 2025. Building on that successful debut, this year’s edition features 11 categories recognizing both established and emerging Kapuso talents.

These include Rising Kapuso Male and Female Star of the Year, Kapuso Male and Female Teen Star of the Year, Kapuso Couple of the Year, Kapuso Love Team of the Year, Kapuso Daytime and Primetime Series of the Year, Kontrabida of the Year and Comedian of the Year.

A new category, Kapuso Host of the Year, has also been introduced to recognize personalities whose hosting work has connected with audiences across entertainment and other programs. As with last year’s edition, the results will be decided by fans rather than a judging panel. GMA Entertainment has also confirmed that supporters may vote multiple times, with no limit on the number of votes they can cast.

Voting remains open until December 28 through www.GMANetwork.com/Polls. The winners will be announced during the “2027 Kapuso New Year Countdown Special” on December 31, bringing the network’s yearend celebration to a close with another round of recognition for the personalities and programs that earned the strongest support from Kapuso audiences.
