GMA Network wins big at Platinum Stallion National Media Awards 2026

February 20 ------ GMA Network won TV Station of the Year anew at Trinity University Asia's Platinum Stallion National Media Awards 2026. According to Bea Pinlac’s report on “Unang Balita," several Kapuso programs and personalities also took home honors for their excellence in the media industry.


“Unang Hirit” was recognized as Best Morning Show, with program manager Janela Paguio and host Shaira Diaz accepting the award. In Shaira's acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude for the honor, saying the award inspires the team to work even harder in delivering credible news and genuine public service. “Mas lalo pa kaming namomotivate at ginaganahan bumangon para magtrabaho at lalo pang pagbutihan ang aming paghahayag o paghatid ng balita at siyempre ng serbisyong totoo para sa ating mga kababayan,” Shaira said.


Meanwhile, GMA Network's flagship newscast “24 Oras” bagged Best TV News Program. Kapuso news anchor, Vicky Morales, was named Best Public Service Program Host for “Wish Ko Lang,” which also won Best Public Service Program. Adding to the honors was Martin Javier, who bagged Best TV Sports Program Host for GMA Sports. Atom Araullo, on the other hand, was hailed as Male News Anchor of the Year for "State of the Nation."


GMA Regional TV earned the title of Best Regional TV Network, while Super Radyo DZBB was named AM Radio Station of the Year. “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” likewise won Best News Magazine Program, while “I-Witness” was awarded Best Documentary TV Show.


The Kapuso primetime series, “Mga Batang Riles,” was recognized as Best Primetime Drama Series, with its lead star Miguel Tanfelix receiving TV Actor of the Year. Rhian Ramos also took home the TV Actress of the Year for her role as Mitena in “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre.” Her co-stars Kelvin Miranda and Angel Guardian were also awarded Best Primetime Drama Series Actor and Actress, respectively. In addition, “It's Showtime” was recognized as Best Noontime Show.
