February 3 ------ Glaiza de Castro is full of pride following the first screening of her film '58th' at the 2026 International Film Festival Rotterdam. Glaiza de Castro shared both her joy and nerves after the world premiere of GMA Public Affairs and GMA Pictures' animated documentary film 58th at the 2026 International Film Festival Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
On her Instagram post, the Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre actress reflected on the experience of creating the movie and her emotions during its very first international screening. “First screening of our film—58th, done! This was the very first time I watched our film, and honestly, I was so nervous,” Glaiza wrote in the caption.
She also revealed that the team worked with minimal practical props, requiring them to rely heavily on their imagination during filming. “We shot all of our scenes with minimal practical props and relied mostly on our imagination to envision everything,” Glaiza wrote.
Despite this, the actress expressed her pride after finally seeing the film in its entirety and seeing how beautifully it turned out. “But seeing it all come together—the animation, the actual footage, and the way the story was retold—made me really proud to be part of this project,” Glaiza said. She added that the experience was made more significant by the presence of the Filipino community in the Netherlands, noting that the screening instilled a sense of hope among the viewers. “It was also meaningful to watch it with fellow Filipinos who have been living here,” Glaiza wrote. “Although it was a sad event, it reminded all of us that we should never stop questioning and never lose hope,” she added. Glaiza concluded her post by writing, “What an incredible first film festival experience!”
