Gilas Youth reveals roster for U16 Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers

May 16 ------ FOUR players from UAAP juniors high school champion University of the East lead the 18-man roster of Gilas Pilipinas Youth for the FIBA Under-16 Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers to be held from May 24 to 30 in San Fernando, Pampanga.
Finals MVP Gab Delos Reyes (6-foot-3), Brian Orca (6-foot-2), Goodluck Okebata (6-foot-1), and Jolo Pascual (6-foot-1) made it to the squad following the Junior Warriors’ conquest of University of Santo Tomas in the Season 87 crown in 2024. UST star and Mythical Five winner Andwele Cabanero (5-foot-11) also got the nod of Gilas Pilipinas Youth head coach LA Tenorio to comprise the roster for the tournament where they will go up against Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand.
Second-generation players Clark Khobuntin of National University Nazareth School (6-foot-3), son of current TNT player Glenn, and Chris Paul Miranda of Far Eastern University-Diliman (5-foot-8), child of former PBA player Denok, will also play for flag and country and vying for one of two places in the FIBA Under-16 Asia Cup to be held in Mongolia. Also attending FEU-Diliman is Prince Carino, who at 6-foot-7 is the tallest in the Gilas Pilipinas Youth roster vying.
Cabanero’s fellow UAAP Mythical Five winner Jhustin Hallare of University of the Philippines Integrated School (6-foot-0) is also part of the national youth squad. Rajver Sidhu of Lyceum (6-foot-0), Ethan David Tan-Chi of Faith Academy (5-foot-10), Everaigne Cruz of San Sebastian (6-foot-1), Jeremiah Antolin of St. Augustine Institute of Pampanga (6-foot-6), Jhello Lumague of Letran (6-foot-3), John Restificar of Perpetual Help (6-foot-3), Sacred Toring of NU Nazareth School (6-foot-5), Samuel Esomchi of La Salle Greenhills (6-foot-0), and Travis Pascual of Santolan High School (5-foot-11).
