Gilas Youth demolish Vietnam with 93-point beatdown in SEABA Qualifiers

June 11 ------ Gilas Pilipinas Youth Men flexed their dominance crushing Vietnam, 121-28, in the FIBA U18 Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers at the Chan Ka Pho Gymnasium in Thailand.
The young Filipinos wasted no time asserting themselves, racing to a 39-11 lead after the opening quarter before tightening the screws defensively the rest of the way. The Philippines turned the game into a rout by completely shutting down Vietnam in the third period, holding its opponent scoreless while continuing to pile on points on the other end.
By the final buzzer, Gilas had secured a massive 93-point victory to strengthen its campaign in the regional qualifiers. Seven Filipino players scored in double figures in a balanced offensive effort led by Ethan Matthew Aguas, who finished with 19 points. Joaquin Mikhail Tovera added 16 markers, while Hans Pagtoc chipped in 14. Patrick Laurence Pasinos, Louis James Razon, and Prince Cariño contributed 11 points each as Gilas showcased its depth throughout the contest.
Gilas U18 now shifts its attention to a busy finish in the qualifiers, beginning with a matchup against Singapore on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The Philippines will then cap its campaign against host Thailand on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
