Gilas Pilipinas Men drawn with China, Bahrain, Kazakhstan in Asian Games

August 11 ------ The groups for the basketball tournaments at the Asian Games have been set, as announced by the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organizing Committee.

The Philippine men’s basketball team, Gilas Pilipinas, will begin its title defense on September 11 after being drawn into Group C alongside China, Bahrain, and Kazakhstan. Gilas Men will face Bahrain in its opening game, followed by Kazakhstan on September 12 and rival China on September 14.

The women’s team, meanwhile, has been grouped with Japan, Kazakhstan, and Hong Kong. Gilas Women will open its campaign against Kazakhstan on September 17, followed by Hong Kong on September 20 and Japan on September 22.

The Philippine women’s team finished fifth at the 2022 Asian Games.
