Gazini Ganado on women empowerment, continuing journey as beauty queen

March 14 ------ Gazini Ganado paid tribute to empowered women in her life just as the world marked the start of International Women’s Month few days ago. The Miss Universe- Philippines 2019 expressed gratitude to her mother, a single parent, and grandmother who raised her with so much love and care. “My lola and mama po is my epitome of empowered women,” Gazini said at the “EachForEqual” event, a program organized by the Araneta City in line with the celebration of Women’s month.
It saw Gazini reunite with her fellow Binibining Pilipinas 2019 queens namely Resham Saeed (Miss Supranational), Emma Tiglao (Miss Intercontinental), Patch Magtanong (Miss International) and Aya Abesamis (Miss Grand International). Gazini continued: “My mother had a choice to actually abort me but she did not because she found the beauty in raising a child. And that child has a dream… a dream that gave me strength to conquer the universe.”
Gazini revealed her mother, at 40, decided to take up welding course in TESDA. “She gave me the idea that what men can do, women can do too.” The 24-year-old noted how empowering it was being surrounded by her fellow binibinis, knowing that all the representatives are strong women coming from different parts of the country. “During my Bb. Pilipinas days, I have successful women supporting my back. 40 empowered women that were so kind, all so generous supporting each other. No single lady made me feel intimidated at all. I’m just so happy that I’m with them,” she said. Gazini greeted women across the globe. “Let’s celebrate women’s month not only this month, but hopefully every day. Happy Women’s Month!”
