Gabby Concepcion, Albert Martinez lead celebs supporting 'Gabay Guro'

October 14 ------ At the height of their respective love team careers, Gabby Concepcion (with Sharon Cuneta and Albert Martinez (with Snooky Serna) were pitted against each other. More than 40 years later, they join forces as dear friends to give support to the annual advocacy event "Gabay Guro."

Now on its 16th year, the two award-winning actors are among the star-studded lineup of celebrities who volunteer for the flagship education program from Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), Metro Pacific Investments Foundation (MPIF), and PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF), in partnership with the PLDT Managers' Club Inc. Gabay Guro. While the program is all-year round, among the much-awaited components of Gabay Guro is the tribute concert where teachers witness topnotch entertainment from celebrities and get a chance to win unbeatable prizes.

Despite their busy schedules, Concepcion and Martinez always find time to volunteer for the advocacy, be it in events that pay tribute to the teachers or promotions that benefit the educators. In fact, on the day of the media conference of concert, they both revealed that they had prior commitments Concepcion for a shoot and Martinez for an important meeting — which would have prevented them from going. But as Concepcion put it, "This is an event planned by God." Suddenly, their schedules cleared up, which enabled them to be present to promote the concert through a media conference. "What I admire most about our ambassadors is that as long as they can, they will really go to our events, which always delight our teachers," said Gabay Guro Chairperson Chaye Cabal-Revilla.

This year's edition themed "Pagpupugay at Pasasalamat Kay Ma'am at Sir" is set on October 14, from 1 p.m. at the famed Dolphy Theater inside the ABS-CBN.
