Filipino Danni Ugali directs global cast in 'John Shaw: Nuclear Winter'

MANILA, Philippines, August 10 ------ International action-thriller "John Shaw: Nuclear Winter" helmed by Filipino director Danni Ugali features an international cast led by Cebuano Ron Chan in his feature film debut.

"A radical terrorist faction orchestrates a conspiracy to ignite global nuclear war, manipulating major powers — Russia, Iran, and North Korea — into launching a coordinated assault against NATO and allied nations," goes the film's synopsis. "With only hours left before the outbreak of irreversible catastrophe, one man is thrust into a race against time to stop the collapse of civilization."

Also making her debut in a major leading role is rising Russian talent Anastasiia Dymchenko. Completing the global cast are Jelizaveta Mescerjakova, Maurice Ferando, Hassan Reda, Chhiitesh Shaarma, Steven Fredriksen, Elnora Rose Celis, Brian Pepito, and Paul Al-Fakkas.

Pepito also did the film's score with Michael Dela Peña, while "America's Got Talent" finalist Peter Rosalita performs the movie's theme song. "John Shaw: Nuclear Winter" premieres in Philippine cinemas this September.
