October 19 ------ THE FILIPINAS will play a friendly against Uzbekistan on October 29 as part of the collaboration between the Philippine Football Federation and GoTyme Bank. The friendly, dubbed as the ‘GoTyme Bank Match Up,’ will be held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium and serves as tune-up for the Nationals' participation in the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Australia.
Uzbekistan, ranked No. 52 in the world, will also be in action in the Asian Cup. “This international friendly against Uzbekistan is an opportunity for the Filipinas to measure themselves against another Asian Cup-qualified side. It will allow the team to fine-tune their system and build chemistry ahead of next year’s World Cup qualifying campaign in Australia,” said PFF president John Gutierrez.
The Philippines is with host Australia, South Korea, and Iran in Group A of the competition. “We’re incredibly excited to continue supporting our Filipina athletes whenever they compete,” said GoTyme Bank CEO Nate Clarke. “Our ongoing partnership with the Philippine Football Federation reflects a shared commitment to making the game more inclusive, as we empower athletes with the support they need to thrive. “As passionate supporters of the sport, we look forward to cheering on the team in their upcoming matches and being part of the movement that helps our players push boundaries, inspire communities, and change the game,” Clarke added.
The friendly ends a 10-day training camp on local shores. Twenty-six players were called up for the camp in Olivia McDaniel, Nina Meollo, Inna Palacios, Angela Beard, Janae DeFazio, Carleigh Frilles, Meryll Serrano, Kaya Hawkinson, Hali Long, Nina Mathelus, Chandler McDaniel, Jessika Cowart, Bella Pasion, Sofia Wunsch, Rhea Chan, Sara Eggesvik, Ava Villapando, Jaclyn Sawicki, Katrina Guillou, Inday Tolentin, Nya Harrison, Emma Rose Tovar, Malia Cerdon, Madison Francis Ayson, Isabella Villafor, and Alexia Blanco. “The game against Uzbekistan is a great challenge, as they have also qualified for the Asian Cup and they are a very tough opponent,” said Filipinas coach Mark Torcaso.
