November 14 ------ THE Philippines drew with Chile, 1-1, in a friendly on Saturday at the Estadio Sausalito in Vina del Mar, Chile (Sunday, Manila time).

The Chileans are ranked 38th in the world and are vying for a spot in the World Cup via the playoffs this February. “The team was physical, great possession on the ball but we really put a good put forward coming out of the gate and really proud of the efforts we had here tonight,” said Long.

The Filipinas are in in Group A of the 2023 Fifa Women’s World Cup with New Zealand, Norway, and Switzerland. The tournament will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20. The Philippines will play against Chile again on Tuesday at the Municipal dela Pintana in Santiago, Chile. The Philippine team supported by Jefferson Cheng, Philippine Sports Commission, and MVP Sports Foundation, is ranked 53rd in the Fifa women’s rankings.
