Filipinas climb to no. 39 in FIFA Women's world rankings

August 9 ------ The Philippine women's national football team Filipinas rose to no. 39 in the FIFA Women's world ranking released. This was two spots up from its previous ranking of no. 41 last June 12.

Back in June, the Filipinas competed in the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers where they defeated Saudi Arabia (3-0), Cambodia (6-0), and Hong Kong (1-0) to book a slot to the Asian Cup next year. The Philippines reached its highest ranking of no. 38 last December 2023, just months after the Filipinas' debut in the FIFA Women's' World Cup.

The nationals will also compete in the upcoming 2025 ASEAN Women's Championship (MSIG Serenity Cup) where they will aim to defend the title.
