MANILA, Philippines, September 24 ------ "Eraserheads: Combo On The Run," the documentary on the popular Filipino rock band, is lined up for premieres in two international film festivals next month.

The docu-film directed by Maria Diane Ventura is part of the official selection for the Spotlight On The Philippines section of the 44th Annual Hawai'i International Film Festival this October. Also in this selection are Lav Diaz's "Magellan," the Philippines' entry to the Academy Awards next year, and Jerrold Tarog's upcoming historical epic "Quezon," starring Jericho Rosales. "Eraserheads: Combo On The Run" is also up for Best International Film Documentary at the International Sound & Film Music Festival.

The Croatian event, considered among the largest sound and film music festivals in the world, will take place on October 6. "Sharing a story and music that are distinctly ours, yet resonate with a wider audience, is inspiring," Ventura said in a statement. "Representing the Philippines on this stage is a privilege."

The docu-film is currently rolling out dates for theatrical releases in the Middle East, Australia, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. "We're thrilled to be taking the film beyond the Philippines," added Ventura. "It's exciting to see this story travel and connect with audiences around the world."
