Entertainment companies join ‘Blackout Tuesday’

June 3 ------ Entertainment companies joined the “Blackout Tuesday” initiative on June 2 in response to the death of 46-year-old African-American George Floyd in Minneapolis.
According to a report, among the companies who joined in the “Blackout Tuesday” were agencies UTA, ICM Partners, CAA, Gersh, Verve, Pantheon, APA, TalentWorks, Buchwald, WME, the Rothman Brecher Ehrich Livingston agency, and Stewart Talent.
Management companies also participated, including Artist First, Inspire Entertainment, Odenkirk Provissiero, Silver Lining Entertainment and Management 360, ViacomCBS, Funny or Die, Wallman PR, AGC Studios, law firm Lichter Grossman Nichols Adler Feldman & Clark, and United Talent.
Meanwhile, youth television MTV and other music channels conducted an eight-minute, 46-second blackout — the length of time they said that a white Minneapolis police officer knelt on the neck of Floyd. Warner Music Group, Universal Music, Sony Music, and other record labels issued pledges and support for the “Black Out Tuesday” initiative.
Floyd died on May 27 after a policeman knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes. Floyd became unresponsive after almost three minutes.
