November 13 ------ As Emma Tiglao finds herself in the spotlight after attending some of Miss Universe 2025’s pre-pageant activities, she reminded the pageant community that being a “true queen” goes beyond winning the crown and is about fulfilling one’s duties with a purpose.
Tiglao spoke about the definition of a true queen on her Instagram page on Monday, November 10, although her message is dedicated to the pageant community as a whole. “To everyone in the pageant community, let’s remember that our crowns were never meant to compete, but to build bridges of understanding and camaraderie. We may wear different crowns, but we share one purpose to inspire, to uplift, and to serve,” she said.
The Miss Grand International titleholder added that being a queen is defined by rising through “compassion.” “For true queens rise not through perfection, but through compassion and the beauty of diversity.” Aside from the message, Tiglao also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to visit Phuket, Thailand, and reminded her fellow countrymen to “stay strong and hold on to [their] faith” amid the onslaught of Typhoons Tino and Uwan.
Tiglao’s message came at a time when she gained attention for stepping into the shoes of Miss Universe 2024 Victoria Theilvig during the global tilt’s pre-pageant activities, a seeming fulfillment of her responsibilities through Miss Grand International (MGI) founder Nawat Itsaragrisil, who also serves as Miss Universe’s VP for Asiana. She became the co-host in the Phuket event in honor of the pageant’s sponsors, a role that was supposed to have been Theilvig’s.
