MANILA, Philippines, November 25 ------ Eldrew Yulo wrapped up his campaign in the Junior World Artistic Gymnastics Championships with multiple medals. Yulo added a horizontal bar bronze to his haul following an improved performance in the final at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.

The younger brother of Olympic champion Carlos, the 17-year-old Yulo eclipsed his 13.700 mark in the qualification with 14.000 points as he claimed another medal following his bronze finish in floor exercise the day prior. Colombia’s Camilo Vera struck gold with 14.533 points, while top qualifier Danila Leykin of the USA settled for silver with 14.233 points.

Yulo stuck his landing for a stick bonus of .1 point, which proved to be the difference as he edged Japan’s Eijun Yasui (13.900) for a podium spot. Sixth on the start list, Yulo propelled himself to silver-medal position following his routine before he got dropped to third as Vera — the last performer out of the eight finalists — blew the competition away. Vera ended his run with two golds after sharing the top prize in the parallel bars with Japan’s Nao Ojima.
