Eastern Visayas workers to receive pay hike

MANILA, Philippines, September 3 ------ Minimum wage earners and household workers or kasambahay in Eastern Visayas are expected to get an increase in their daily take-home pay as the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPB) will conduct a wage consultation today.
The National Wages and Productivity Commission announced yesterday that the RTWPB will hold a sectoral consultation on wage adjustments in Maasin City, Southern Leyte. Company representatives, employees, kasambahay and other interested parties are invited to attend the wage consultation.
Last week, the RTWPB in Central Visayas conducted a public hearing on the minimum wage adjustment in the region. Workers and other stakeholders attended the public hearings held in Negros Oriental and Siquijor.
