Dwight Ramos named Asia captain in B.League All-Star Weekend




December 1 ------ DWIGHT Ramos will once again serve as captain of the Asia All-Stars in the upcoming Asia Rising Star Game in the 2025 B.League All-Star Weekend in Funabashi. The Gilas Pilipinas guard, who is in his third season with the Levanga Hokkaido, will be making his fourth straight appearance in the duel between the Asian Quota Players and the Japanese professional league’s brightest young guns in the midseason expo set on Jan. 18 and 19 at LaLa Arena Tokyo Bay. 

  

Five more Filipinos led by Kai Sotto of the Koshigaya Alphas were named to the roster on Thursday. Also in the mix are Kiefer Ravena of Yokohama B-Corsairs, Ray Parks of Osaka Evessa, AJ Edu of Nagasaki Velca, and Matthew Wright of Kawasaki Brave Thunders. They are joined by Chinese players Sun Xiao of Ibaraki Robots and Michael Ou of Chiba Jets, Chinese Taipei naturalized player Mohammad Al Bashir Gadiaga of Akita Northern Happinets, and locals Yu Ai-che of Shiga Lakes and Tseng Hsiang-chun of Fighting Eagles Nagoya, and Thai-American swingman Tyler Lamb of Kumamoto Volters. 

  

Ren Kanechika of Chiba Jets will lead the Rising Stars team, together with Allen Hachimura of Gunma Crane Thunders and Kai King of Yokohama B-Corsairs. Completing the squad are Inoue Soichiro of Koshigaya Alphas, Hayato Wakugawa of San-En NeoPhoenix, Ryo Sadohara of Fighting Eagles Nagoya, Daiki Sumita of Saga Ballooners, and debutants Asato Ogawa of Chiba Jets, Seiya Konishi of Kyoto Hannaryz, the Hiroshima Dragonflies pair of Masato Ichikawa and Takuto Nakamura, and Masahiro Waki of Ryukyu Golden Kings. 

  

Aside from the Asia Rising Stars Game, Parks will also partake in the Three-Point Contest, where the Osaka gunner will have his hands full as he challenges defending champion Ryuichi Kishimoto of the Ryukyu Golden Kings and former NBA player Yuta Watanabe, now of the Chiba Jets. Also competing are Utsunomiya Brex’s Makoto Hiejima, Gunma Crane Thunders’ Naoto Tsuji, Hiroshima Dragonflies’ Ryo Yamazaki, and Chiba Jets U18’s Aima Sekiya.
